Even into adulthood I have continued to be very active with my netball, but I was missing something else. I wanted to develop my strength and to continue to improve my endurance. 

 

I started off by trying the local gym. Doing workouts without an instructor just wasn’t for me. I didn’t feel motivated enough to attend and I found it boring and I didn’t challenge myself. So I started going to fitness classes at the gym, but most of the time I felt embarrassed if I wasn’t as fast or as strong as others, and the instructors were not very supportive of my weaknesses.

While trying to find some sort of fitness inspiration, I stumbled across Merv through his lovely wife Amber. Merv is the perfect combination of tough and fun! He pushes you to achieve your best, but is also understanding when you have soreness and injuries. Each session is different, whether it be an individual PT session or group class (bootcamp), and I thoroughly enjoy the addition of games which are highly engaging to me (as I am quite competitive). Merv caters to your needs by working on your own personal goals which you set together. Even in larger group situations, you are only ever competing against yourself and your personal best, not others which relieves my stress of being embarrassed while exercising. 

 

Thank you Merv for helping me become stronger and be able to improve my endurance. I was able to play 3 quarters of Centre during my netball game last week. YAY! Now to push to run for all 4!
